The overpass on the A22 motorway at Egna is composed by a single span of 46 m with a bowstring arch with eliminated thrust supporting a 6.5m-wide carriageway, pedestrian walkway and cycle path.
It consists of a straight steel deck with an orthotropic plate, supported by a single arch, also in steel, inclined at 20° from the vertical and located laterally, in an eccentric position with respect to the longitudinal axis. The arch has an irregular pentagonal box and a jib of 7.5 m from the deck. The arch-bridge connection is made by means of welded double T-shaped hangers with variable section.
The deck consists of a multi-cellular caisson with 4 cores with a maximum height of 1.4 m with 3.3m pitch diaphragms. The cycle path and the pedestrian walkway, with a usable width of 2.8 m and 2.5 m, are supported by double T brackets with variable height, according to the pitch of the diaphragms.
