Cisavola and Volpara Viaducts

This article published in Strade e Autostrade talks about the project for the assembly and launching of the Cisavola and Volpara viaducts on the existing route of the Cisa A15 motorway.

Steel Project, on behalf of BIT SpA, manufacturer of the deck and metal struts, developed the Executive Project of the lifting equipment for the Cisavola viaduct and the launching equipment of the Volpara viaduct, in addition to the checks of the two decks during the lifting and of launching.

Braila suspension bridge

Today we virtually take you to Romania to talk to you about a work that will surely be much talked about, once completed: the suspension bridge over the Danube, in Braila. It is a suspension bridge characterized by 3 spans, whose central span is 1120 m and whose overall development is 1974.30 m.
For this bridge, on behalf of Fincantieri Infrastructure S.p.A., we took care of the executive design of the assembly and transport equipment of the deck macro-segments having dimensions of approximately 30×40 m. In addition to the sizing of all the equipment necessary for the development of the assembly activities of the single macro-segment, the task entrusted to us included the structural analysis of the ashlars of the deck caisson, both in the survey phase (position on 4 supports), handling ( 4 or 8 supports) and storage. In particular for the survey phases, in addition to defining the appropriate reinforcements to the lower orthotropic slab of the segments in the provisional support areas, the deformed configurations during the stationing phase on 4 supports were evaluated for each type of macro-segment envisaged in the project (preliminary the geometric relief of the segment and the subsequent trimming of the sheets) and in the lifting phase in the final position for the evaluation of the geometric congruence of the segments before the execution of the definitive welded joints between segment and segment.
Ample space was dedicated to the suspension bridge of Braila in the paper magazine “Costruzioni Metalliche”, published in the February 2022 edition.

Science Gateway

Un ambizioso progetto al Cern di Ginevra

Ecco uno dei nostri ultimi lavori, che riguarda il CERN di Ginevra: lo “Science Gateway”, una struttura dedicata completamente all’istruzione e alla divulgazione della scienza.
L’architettura di Science Gateway, progettato dallo studio di progettazione Renzo Piano Building Workshop, si ispira alle installazioni tecniche e ai tunnel sotterranei del CERN.

La Steel Project Engineering si è occupata nello specifico dello studio delle fasi esecutive di montaggio dei 3 padiglioni, delle 2 strutture tubolari in carpenteria metallica e del bridge di collegamento. Inoltre è stato curato l’aspetto della cantierizzazione, con relativa organizzazione delle aree di cantiere.

Il progetto si colloca all’interno dell’area del Centro Europeo di Ricerca Nucleare e prevede l’impiego di circa 1600t di carpenteria metallica.
La passerella sopraelevata, che si erige ad oltre 6m dal suolo, oltre a permettere l’attraversamento della linea tramviaria, garantisce il collegamento tra i vari padiglioni. Proprio in questi padiglioni si ospiteranno mostre e laboratori pratici, negozi, ristoranti, ed anche un auditorium.

Pochi mesi fa, l’ architetto Renzo Piano è stato in visita al CERN Science Gateway, come testimonia un post sul profilo Linkedin di Cimolai Group ( clicca QUI per leggere il post).

Grazie a più di 2000 metri quadrati di pannelli solari e al bosco di 400 alberi che lo circonderà, Science Gateway sarà a emissioni zero per l’ambiente. Siamo fieri di aver contribuito a questo progetto ambizioso!
